Victor Osimhen has emerged as Juventus number one transfer target ahead of the summer window, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport. The Napoli striker, who was signed by Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli during his previous tenure at Napoli, is now the prime focus as the Serie A giants aim to their attacking options.

However, the pursuit of Osimhen will not be straightforward. While his release clause is reportedly €75 million, this clause does not apply to Italian clubs. As such, Juventus would need to negotiate directly with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, known for driving a hard bargain.

Alongside Osimhen, Juventus are also monitoring Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman. The Atalanta forward is being considered as a more attainable alternative or complementary option, especially after Juventus resolved the internal issues that had previously blocked Teun Koopmeiners potential move from Atalanta.

Both Nigerian internationals are currently among the most influential African players in Europe, and their potential arrival in Turin would signal Juventus' intent to return to domestic and continental dominance.

Editorial

The idea of Victor Osimhen in black and white stripes might have once seemed far-fetched, but Juventus' interest—fuelled by Giuntolis past relationship with the striker—is anything but speculative. For a club still in transition, Osimhen represents the kind of elite-level firepower they desperately need to reignite their Scudetto ambitions.

Its a bold move, but one fraught with complications. Napolis president De Laurentiis is known for driving up prices and would hardly want to strengthen a direct rival. Still, Juventus seem willing to try, and where money talks, negotiations follow.

Ademola Lookman, meanwhile, presents a more pragmatic option. His performances for Atalanta have been stellar intelligent runs, clinical finishes, and defensive work rate all combined. While Osimhen grabs the headlines, Lookman could be the real steal of the summer.

For Nigeria, its flattering to see two of their top internationals at the centre of serious transfer talk from a club with Juventus pedigree. Its also a testament to the growing influence of Nigerian talent in Europes elite competitions. Should either or both land in Turin, it will send a message: Nigerian stars are not just participants theyre protagonists.
